MWC 2022: all the information, dates and companies that will attend the 2022 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona

After the pothole caused by the pandemic that capsized its regularity and punctuality, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona opens its doors in 2022. Barcelona once again becomes the center of the international technological scene in an event that will be held for several days and in which the presence of most of the giants of the sector is expected.
Like every year, at this Mobile World Congress we will attend presentations of devices in very diverse categories, from traditional mobile phones to wearable devices, gadgets more geared towards telecommunications operators themselves, and also equipment for smart homes. All this under one roof under the watchful eye of the health authorities for obvious reasons.

Where is Mobile World Congress 2022 being held?

Although there are still candidates waiting for the event to decide to leave Barcelona, the 2022 MWC will once again be held in the capital of the Autonomous Community of Catalonia. And like every year since its last transfer, the chosen place is once again the venue at the Fira de Barcelona.
Said facility is located on Av. Joan Carles I in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat. For the celebration of the Mobile World Congress, the GSMA occupies all the available pavilions, distributing the brands in all of them based on the space contracted for the different stands.
On what dates is the 2022 Mobile World Congress held?
We are already used to some manufacturers taking advantage of the days before the start of the Mobile World Congress to make different product and strategy presentations. Thus they get a little extra attention before having to compete against the rest of the brands and focus their presence at the MWC on teaching and explaining the novelties rather than revealing them.
But still, the official start date of Mobile World Congress 2022 is February 28. The fair will be active from Monday, February 28 to Thursday, March 3, both days inclusive. So sign up, from February 28 to March 3.

How much are Mobile World Congress tickets?

Although in previous editions cheaper passes have been enabled so that any user on foot could visit the Fira and attend the event, this time it will not be so. The Mobile World Congress resumes its policy of "restricting", always in quotes, access to professionals in the sector, whether they are exhibitors, brands or members of the press.
For this edition, the Mobile World Congress enables tickets ranging from 699 euros (excluding VAT) for the cheapest to 4,195 euros (excluding VAT) for the most expensive. There are also virtual passes at a price of 399 euros and 699 euros (without VAT). Tickets cannot be purchased in person, they must be purchased online through the GSMA website for the aforementioned event.
Which brands have confirmed their attendance at Mobile World Congress 2022?
During the first phases of the pandemic, the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was not held (2020) and in 2021 it was moved to June to try to minimize the economic damage caused by the coronavirus. That is why there is still reluctance on the part of some brands when it comes to attending, but an event is expected as normal beyond the fact that Sony or Lenovo (to name two of the most important) have decided not to exhibit in Barcelona (Lenovo will have stand).
In order not to mention all those that will make up the troupe of exhibitors and presenters at the MWC, we leave you below a summary with the main companies that will attend the event. The complete list of exhibitors can be found on the MWC website.
